Make a Difference

Actions to Take

So many things can be done to aid understanding, education, and help involving epileptic disorders -- even small steps can make a big difference in the long run.

Educate

Seek information about seizures and seizure causing disorders, as well as treatments and ways to help those who are experiencing seizures. Take a look at our website to learn more -- and be sure to also visit other trustworthy resources including the NYU Langone Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Epilepsy.com, and the Mayo Clinic to educate yourself further. Knowledge is truly power, especially when combating medical disorders both well-known and poorly-understood.

Understand

Learn more about the effects of seizures on people -- including those that are invisible, such as mental health. Educate yourself on how people with seizure disorders live their daily lives and deal with sometimes hidden struggles. Moving past discomfort when thinking about their issues will allow you to continue a more critical conversation about how to aid others -- and learn more about yourself, if you do have a seizure causing disorder.
