Seizure Awareness

SEIZURE AWARENESS

This site focuses on seizures, seizure causing disorders, how they impact others, and how to seek help. People are misinformed about seizure-causing disorders, especially rare ones. By addressing the forms of becoming educated and seeking help, as well as what to do in these situations, we are improving people's understanding of diseases by starting with the problem of seizures. From babies to adults, seizures don't discriminate and impact many people's health. We need your help to reach out to all adults, teens, medical professionals, and schools. We want everyone to learn about epileptic disorders, so it's known what actions are needed when someone has a seizure.

OUR MISSION: THE ISSUES

People focus less on uncommon diseases, including some seizure causing disorders; methods have been discovered, but no scientist has found a cure to stop neurons from firing and creating convulsions and seizures. Knowledge about seizures will foster acceptance of these disorders as well as many others. Increased information about seizure disorders hopefully will lead to new awareness on other disorders.

OUR MISSION: THE SOLUTIONS

We will start to spread the problem by posting our website on social media and post stories to get people interested. Right now teens and adults are absorbed in the social media world and having our platform there is the fastest way to spread knowledge. We will also advocate for acceptance of conditions and increased programs to treat epileptic disorders.

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

Staying informed about the struggles and conditions of people with epilepsy will allow them and others to face less stigmatization, ultimately lifting society to a better future. Learning about how to seek help when needed and what signs and conditions there are regarding seizures is important. Taking action is also needed -- we hope to spread our message and talk to higher-ups in education about creating more programs to help and educate people about epilepsy disorders. Take action by following our social media and looking at our supporter checklist for more quick and effective ways to help!

IN HONOR OF CAMERON BOYCE

We are proud to announce the most distinguished actor and hero to many children in the world, Cameron Boyce. On July 6, 2019, Cameron Boyce died from epilepsy, specifically from SUDEP. SUDEP means "Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy." It was unexpected and tragic to lose a great man who was adored by all. He was a phenomenal actor who played the role of "Luke" in the show "Jessie" and "Carlos" in the movie "Descendants." May he rest in peace and never be forgotten.
